Self-paced prep for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) exam. Taught by an AAPC Approved Instructor. Fundamentals of Medicine is required and included.

Beginners and career-changers who need medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology before they learn professional-fee coding. Also, for anyone preparing for the CPC® exam who does not already have that foundation.

• Medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and how to read a medical record (Fundamentals of Medicine)
• Purpose and use of the CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II code books
• Official ICD-10-CM guidelines and CPT® coding conventions
• Evaluation and management (E/M) levels
• Coding of procedures and services across major body systems
• Practical application on operative reports and professional-fee encounters

• Self-paced only. About 40 clock hours of Fundamentals of Medicine, then 80 clock hours of CPC®.
• Most students use a suggested pace of about 12 weeks (FoM) plus 16 weeks (CPC®). You have 12 months of LMS access; extensions are available.
• Weekly live Q&A on Microsoft Teams + weekday email support.
• Fundamentals of Medicine may start at enrollment. CPC® modules are assigned when current-year code books are in use (after 10/1 for a new code year).
